Eren was your typical kind of boy that girls fell for instantly and the kind of person who was in between popular and average. He dated a couple of times and everything, but he just couldn't find the right person that suited his type. And I guess you can say that he got his answer the day [f/n] [l/n] enrolled into his class after winter break was over in his senior year of high school.

Something was off about this girl the moment she stepped into the classroom. The homeroom teacher didn't bother to make a huge introduction for the new student the minute the bell rang and there was a different atmosphere she carried. Dark and mysterious, not the usual "Hey! My name is [f/n] [l/n] and I moved here from wherever and I like blah blah blah!" [f/n] wore a black and white hoodie, dark skinny jeans, a pair of black Converses, and there was a pair of headphones resting around her neck. She seemed unfazed by the scared expressions on her classmates' faces and nonchalantly walked over to the empty desk right next to Eren. A slip of paper fell out of her books and gently fell to the floor; he picked it and scanned the words quickly before handing it to the new girl, who quickly took it back.

Throughout class, Eren noticed that the room had become quieter, almost as if they were in detention or ISS. He glanced over to [f/n] and quickly took his gaze off her. Taking notes, calmly looking at the board, etc. Doesn't seem that bad. Scratch that. It was her quiet nature that made her scary. But to Eren's surprise, he actually liked the classroom quiet. The usual idiots that caused trouble for the class were always making lame ass jokes and being obnoxious always gave him a headache. Now, everything's peaceful (In a creepy way, of course), so he relaxed in his chair and listened to the lecture. But the words he saw on that slip of paper sparked his curiosity. Report for ISS after lunch every day. How much trouble is this new kid?

[f/n] spent extra time at her locker, decorating the insides with fancy curios and what-nots. A shadow blocked the light that helped her hang up her things, and she scowled, reluctantly looking behind her.

"Can I help you?" She asked in a harsh tone.

His golden eyes sparkled mischievously and he flashed a dazzling smile at [f/n]. "Heard that the new girl in this grade was a badass, so being that myself, I was asking if you wanted to hang out sometime. The name's Jean." He smiled.

[f/n] smiled sweetly at first but then in a swift movement, she grabbed his shirt and threw him against the lockers, her fiery [e/c] eyes shining with animosity. "You're quite arrogant enough to think I'd hang out with you, huh? Hate to break it to you, buddy, but I'm not your cute girl. So you can take your lame proposal and shove it in your horse-like face." Slamming her locker shut, she stormed to her class angrily.

A couple of lockers away, Eren smirked and laughed to himself at what the new girl did to his worst rival. "Not so lucky again, huh, Jean?" He yelled, causing Jean to flip the former off.

"At least she did you a favor, Mikasa," Armin said teasingly from Eren's side. "From that experience, Jean won't be hitting on anyone for the rest of the year." He then turned to Eren. "Why have you been staring at her since she came into homeroom? Do you like her or something?"

Eren frowned for a moment, then tapped his fingers on his locker absentmindedly. "I dunno. Even if I do like her, I don't want to end up the way Jean did. Besides... being the 'suicidal bastard' I am, maybe I'll try to be friends with her."

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Mikasa asked him incredulously.

[f/n] cursed herself for letting her anger out on her first day. Way to go for making a first impression, asshole! But then she stared down at her hands, twiddling her fingers. He still made a lame pickup line and tried to think I'm some flirtatious girl he can hit on. But still! People are probably thinking I'm some assassin trying to kill everyone who catches my eye.

She then slowly walked into the cafeteria, holding a lemon nervously as she watched the entire room go dead silent. [f/n] felt all eyes on her as she approached a table uncomfortably.

"Hey," she muttered. "Mind if I sit here?" Crap. Wrong table. Jean was sitting there, and he scowled at her immediately. [f/n] shot him a glare.

Her cheeks flushed when she saw a boy with turquoise eyes give her a small smile. As if to say 'Sure.'

But after a few minutes of awkward silence, [f/n] could tell that the rest of the table didn't really want her here. "You didn't have to take that long to say you're too scared of me. I was gonna eat in my classroom anyway. Sorry to waste you losers' time," she snapped before biting into her lemon angrily and walking away.

Who needed them anyway? I live my life in my own pace. And whoever messed with me too much always gets a knuckle sandwich, [f/n] thought bitterly as she sat down in her empty classroom and started finishing her lemon.

"Oh, [f/n]? I didn't expect to see you here," someone said behind her.

"Hey, Ms. Zoe," [f/n] said blandly.

"Tough first day, huh?" Her homeroom teacher sat in a desk across her, grinning. "How bad is it?"

"Well, I kind of lost my temper after first period and almost beat up a guy for trying to hit on me. And as a result, I couldn't find a place to my lemon because now the whole senior class thinks I'm an assassin."

Ms. Zoe's warm brown eyes sparkled behind her glasses. "Oh, you'll be fine, kid. I was quite the weirdo in senior year. I read books about things totally disgusting and weird and kept going on 24/7 about them to my classmates. I didn't have any friends the first few days, but I found out if you just talk to the right people, you'll make some friends."

The bell rang, and [f/n] couldn't hide her disappointment in leaving her safe haven with Ms. Zoe. "Thanks for the talk. I really appreciate it."

"It's fine. Even if you did terrorize this school district's eastern chain, I still think you're a good kid. Oh, and some advice on who to start your friends list, I think you should go hang out with Eren. I noticed that he kept staring at you during first period."

[f/n] flushed at the comment. "Again, thanks. Is it okay if I come back tomorrow?"

Ms. Zoe smiled. "Sure! I'd be happy to listen to all of you teenagers' problems!"

"Oh, and one more thing... Where do I report for ISS? It's kind of on my schedule..."

"It's your lucky day! You're sticking with me!"

[f/n] cheerfully went to her locker, smiling as she deposited and withdrew items. Finally, my first day is getting better. But she had no idea that it was about to get worse.

Eren was pretty annoyed at how his friends shunned [f/n] out like that. Now he missed his chance to talk to her and maybe become friends. He kept staring at her empty desk for the rest of the day, thinking and imagining what she might be doing in ISS.

Suddenly, a folded Sticky Note landed on his desk and he glanced up, seeing Jean pointing at it furiously. Eren carefully opened the note, quickly reading the words before writing his reply...

Hey, wanna tease [f/n] with me after school? -J

Why? Still mad at her for making you look like a loser in front of the whole grade, Horseface?

Shut up! I think it might be fun to see what she's really like. Then we can tell the whole school what she really is like! That will show her for messing with me!!

Don't you think that's a bit harsh? I mean, she might be trying to start over.

Really? Jaeger-Bombastic, you need to get your shit straight. If someone's a punk like her, they'll never change.

Pick on her all you want, Horseface, but if you get yourself killed. It's not my problem.

Eren cringed as he threw the note back to Jean. He didn't want to see what [f/n] would do to Jean once he started his tormenting.

[f/n] exited her first (and exciting) ISS with a smile on her face and she popped on her headphones and scrolled through her phone's music playlist as she entered the school's courtyard. A pair of hands pulled her headphones down.

"The hell is your problem?" she exclaimed as she whirled around. "What do you want, Jean?"

"Look." Jean crossed his arms and gave [f/n] an sickeningly 'apologetic' look. "I think we got off on the wrong foot. I just wanted to start over."

[f/n]'s eyes narrowed. This trick wasn't going to work on her. "Don't think I'm just a gullible kid, you idiot. I can see through all of your words. Now leave me alone before I kick your ass for real this time. And move. I need to get something from my locker." The last sentence was a lie, but [f/n] desperately wanted to get away from him and the people crowding around them. Unfortunately and much to her annoyance, he wasn't moving.

"I'll let you go if you hang out with me," he teased.

"Stop it," she gritted her teeth. "Don't make this harder for me!"

"Just say you'll do it and I'll leave you alone."

    "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

    CRACK.

    Blood splattered the concrete floor.

    And [f/n] fled.

Since that incident, [f/n] didn't come back to school. Not because she wanted to avoid punishment;she was too afraid she'll hurt someone. But since she had no other family members, she decided trying to homeschool herself.

At least I have more time to work my jobs, [f/n] thought glumly as she finished another episode of her favorite show. More time to do my homework that someone brings to my door everyday and a good excuse to avoid that shit head Jean.

She then trudged to her bedroom, flopped onto her bed, and blasted her music. [f/n] closed her eyes and relaxed, sinking into her own world... and until the doorbell rang.

"It better not be that asshole trying to apologize to me or something!" She huffed as she stomped down the stairs to answer it.

    "Can I help you?"

    "Hey."

[f/n]'s eyes widened. "Eren, right? From homeroom? What are you doing here?" God, he looked cute.

"Came to drop off your homework as usual."

"You're the one that's been doing this?"

"You gotta keep up with your schoolwork to get into a good college, right?" He smiled, ruffling his hair. "Well, now that you answered for the first time in forever, mind if I come in?"

"S-sure," [f/n] stammered. Ms. Zoe's words then came back to her. Talk to Eren.

"Your place is really neat," Eren said. "How do you afford all of this? Are your parents really wealthy or something?"

[f/n] inhaled sharply. Touchy subject. "You wanna go for a ride? I don't really wanna talk about it here." She led Eren outside to her black Yamaha motorcycle.

"Mind telling me now where you got this sweet ride?"

"Stole it," [f/n] said in a monotone.

    "What?!"

"Kidding! It was my dad's. Are you getting on or not?"

    Eren grinned sheepishly. "Sorry..."

The ride was pretty silent at first, but [f/n] finally broke the silence. "You wanted to know about my past, right? Well... Mom died after I was born, being frail and having me cost her a lot of blood. My dad and I never really got along, so he sent me to boarding schools and I started living there. I then went bad from there starting in elementary school and started picking fights. That's why everyone thinks I'm an assassin or something. When I came home for the first time when I was seventeen, I got word that there was a freak accident and dad was killed. I lived in an orphanage for a few weeks and when I turned eighteen, I was released and started over on my own. I work a lot of jobs. And leaving school helped me earn some extra cash to pay the bills."

The two of them stopped at the park. "Why are you asking me about this in the first place?" She asked with surprise. "I'm kind of shocked you're not shaking with fear."

"I'm not scared," Eren said simply.

    "How?"

"I kind of like you. You're like a fearsome ruler who keeps everyone under control. And to be honest, I like school way more since you keep the senior class's a-holes and idiots quiet."

"That's the point!" [f/n] groaned. "I want people to talk to me without their voices trembling! I just want to be accepted."

    "You already are. To me."

oh boyyyyy a heavily klk based one aaaaa

honestly, the eren reader insert called 'detention' was a huge inspiration, and i was mind blown by how well it was written

-> pic turned out to be snk junior high because 1. there's a lack of aesthetically appealing eren pics on the internet (i mean, there are, but half of them are stolen from pixiv artists and that makes me upset >:0 )  and 2. it's the best one that fits??? idk haha

I KNOW I SAID I MIGHT MAKE THIS INTO A TWO-SHOT IF IT'S POPULAR ENOUGH, BUT YET, IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS AND NOTHING'S WRITTEN??? i honestly feel terrible for making another empty promise... v__v it's really hard for me to write sequels, and i hope you all understand ;v; thanks for reading!

When I finished reading this, which was really cute, I read the first page of comments. Immediately, the song that came to mind: m.youtube.com/watch?v=fZwbte46…
